Three mid-Cornwall gems

Cornwall's full of great outdoor spots - here are three very different ones all from the middle of the Duchy.

Helman Tor

We describe this as a mini Bodmin Moor. A rocky outcrop on a high point with fantastic views on a clear day of the South Coast, and across Bodmin Moor to Brown Willy and beyond. Sometimes you can also see the North Coast near Padstow. My favourite place.

Luxulyan Valley
Another hidden gem. Beautiful walks in this once industrial site, dominated by the huge viaduct.  Very quiet, kept secret by the locals!

Camel Trail
This is more famous, but a great day out. Cycle from Bodmin to Padstow on the disused railway route. Or make a circular route cycling the trail to St Wenn then up and over and down to Rock, ferry across to Padstow and cycle the trail back to Bodmin via Wadebridge
