Cornwall Events 2018

 There's always lots to do in Cornwall - here are just some of the events you can look forward to this year:


 Mousehole Harbour Lights 

Until 6th January, you can still see the fantastic Christmas lights in beautiful Mousehole harbour - 


 St Ives Feast Day

After the mayor's procession, watch Hurling The Silver Ball - an ancient tradition involving two teams battling to get a silver ball back to the Guildhall. 5th February,


 St Piran's Day

Celebrations take place across Cornwall 3-5 March to celebrate our patron saint St Piran, the patron saint of tin iners. Lots of fun in Bodmin, Redruth, Penzance or Perranporth where st Piran was washed up on shore in the fifth century. See for more details and dates.


 St Michael's Mount

The mount closed in October but re-opens on 18th March - walking across the causeway is a must-do if you're in the area!


 The Man Engine

31st March sees the Man Engine return to life - an 11m tall miner who's the largest mechanical puppet ever constructed in the UK. He'll start off at Geevor Tin MInes, journey to Heartlands and Lostwithiel then head over the border and away up country. for more info.


 St Endellion Easter Festival

A treat for lovers of classical music, St Endellion's festival from 1-8 April includes works by Britten, Holst, Beethoven and Finzi as well as Handel's Messiah. 


 Cornwall Spring Flower Show

One of the most widely respected flower shows in the UK welcomes visitors to BOconnoc near Liskeard on 7th and 8th April -


Porthleven Food and Musical Festival 

National and international chefs gicvign food demonstrations, street food stalls and music and entertainment day and night make this a hugely popular festival -


Padstow Obby Oss

 See in May Day with a centuries-old tradition as the Obby Oss (or Osses, there's more than one!) dances through the streets of Padstow. lots of parades, dancing, entertainment and fun!


 Helston Flora Day

A spring festival to celebrate the end of winter, with houses and shops throughout Helston  decorated with greenery and flowers, and processional dancing from 7 in the morning to greet Spring


 Open Studios Cornwall

 300 of Cornwall's finest artists, potters craftspeople and designers open their studios to the public from 19 to 28 May - a unique opportunity to meet them, see their work and even take part in workshops.


 Royal Cornwall Show

The biggest event in the county all year, the Royal Cornwall Show is a fantastic day out and a great opportunity to see what makes Cornwall and Cornwall's farmers so special. The oldest event of its kind in the country, it's full of animals, entertainment, exhibits and activities for the whole family - plus of course local food and drink!


 Golowan Festival

 A week-long festival from 23 to 28 June celebrating the Feast of St John in Penzance. Lots of events, with Mazey Day on 23rd as one of the highlights, when the centre of Penzance is filled with music, and giant sculptures parade through the town.


 Rock Oyster Festival

A weekend (6-7July) packed with fanbtastic food and excellent music in a stunning location overlooking the Camel Estuary.


 Falmouth Week

One of the country's biggest regattas, centerd around sailing competitions every day but with lots more events for the whole family, including the Red Arrows on 15 August.


 Newquay Fish Festival

Celebrating Newquay's centusires-old association with fish, a great food festival from 7 to 9 September. Demonstrations from leading chefs, local produce tents, arts and crafts.


 Heritage Open Days

Over 40 different events 6-9 and 13-16 Septmeber across Cornwall, at many places that don't normally open to the public - see


 North Cornwall Book Festival

St Endellion is the setting for a wide-ranging book festival running from 4 to 7 October.



 Falmouth Oyster Festival

Celebrating the start of the oyster season with four days of feasting, cooking demos, live music, food and craft stalls.


 Fowey Christmas Market 

One of our best-known Christmas events, with locally made food, drink and crafts throughout Fowey's pictueresque streets.


 Padstow Christmas Festival

Over 100 food drink and craft producers com together from across Cornwall, with music, fireworks and even a Santa Fun Run (red outfit compulsory!)
