Inspection Schemes Explained
Cornish Farm Holidays has a long history of promoting high quality, rural B&B and Self Catering accommodation throughout Cornwall. It is a co-operative, run by it's members, for it's members.
Accommodation providers are required to be inspected by one of three approved schemes, in order to become a member of Cornish Farm Holidays. In addition all new applicants are inspected by our committee before being accepted into the group.
The three approved inspection schemes are, the AA, Quality in Cornwall and Quality in Tourism. Details of each scheme can be found below, more information can be found on their individual websites.
AA - Star Graded Assessment Scheme
The AA has developed Common Quality Standards for inspecting and rating guest accommodation. These standards and rating categories are now applied throughout the British Isles. The recognition scheme will ensure a consistent standard is implemented and maintained throughout the sector. Star ratings, from 1-5, show the standard of quality for guest accommodation and self catering.
Quality in Cornwall - Safe Legal and Clean Scheme
Quality in Cornwall is a Recognised Local Accommodation Inspection Scheme, launched in partnership with VisitCornwall, Cornwall's Official Tourist Board. Quality in Cornwall provides visitors with confidence to book safe in the knowledge that the accommodation has been visited by an independent, trained inspector who has established that it is Legal, Safe and Clean.
Quality in Tourism - Star Graded Assessment Scheme
Quality Standards are a set of guidance notes for participants who wish to be assessed and gain a star rating, as part of the VisitEngland National Quality Assessment Scheme. The standards were created to ensure that all properties within the star grading scheme are assessed against the same criteria. Star ratings, from 1-5, show the standard of quality for guest accommodation and self catering.
