Joining Cornish Farm Holidays

If you are an independent holiday cottage owner or run a bed & breakfast, you may well find considerable advantage in joining the leading independent cooperative for holidays in Cornwall, particularly if you are able to welcome guests on arrival and be available to provide help and assistance during their stay.
Cornish Farm Holidays is a not-for-profit cooperative run by its members to generate bookings for their accommodation businesses. All the businesses are rural-based, either on working farms, former farms or in the middle of the countryside.
Members pay an affordable annual fee each year, giving excellent value for money. No commission on bookings is taken. All income is ploughed into promoting members’ businesses and helping members keep abreast of developments in the holiday accommodation industry.
What will I get by Joining?
In joining, you are able to meet a group of like-minded people, keen to share ideas and knowledge in a friendly and approachable way. They are always there at the end of a telephone willingly to give advice and support to new members.
Your business is marketed through our website, which is kept under continuous review. You provide all the input to your webpage, which will link to your own website. We advertise and promote ourselves using web marketing, Google AdWords and social media.
The Cornish Farm Holidays Committee organises several meetings each year, with visiting speakers, to help members stay up to date with the changing tourism industry and the expectations of guests. This is of huge benefit to newly-joined members because of the opportunity to have face-to-face discussions in a friendly and relaxed environment with other members facing similar issues. Recent topics covered at Meetings have included holiday trends (by Malcolm Bell of Visit Cornwall), Electric Vehicle Charging Points, GDPR and Web Design. In addition, the Committee organises training days when needed - the most recent one explained how to use Google Analytics.
During the COVID-19 Pandemic, members are updated on a weekly basis with newsletters from the Professional Association of Self Caterers and Visit Cornwall, covering the changing hospitality scene in the COVID-19 era. In addition, Members have kept in touch through ‘Zoom’ Meetings.
2021 Membership Fees (Due 1st December 2020) are for each unit so either a Self Catering Cottage or a Bed and Breakfast bedroom - £95.00. Payment applies to each unit up 4 units. After that, any further units are free.
Do I Qualify for Membership?
Your Self-Catering Holiday Cottage(s) or your Bed & Breakfast must be located in Cornwall in a rural location and needs to be up to the equivalent standard of 4 stars and above expected by Visit England (VE) or the Automobile Association (AA). (Standards for such a grading may be downloaded from these organisations’ websites.) There is no formal requirement to belong to either organisation.
New applicants will be considered for membership, subject to a visit by two members. There is no charge for this visit.
The visit is an informal chance to find out what Cornish Farm Holidays can do for you and whether your property meets Cornish Farm Holidays’ standards.
The acceptance of new members is at the discretion of the Cornish Farm Holidays’ Committee.
