About Us:

Higher Grenna Farm is a quiet smallholding of just a few acres situated exactly between Truro and Falmouth, just north of the village of Perranwell, nestling in the Cornish countryside, surrounded by lovely footpaths and country lanes.

It has become a haven for those wishing to escape the hustle of their busy lives and many couples have returned every year since their first visit.

THE GRANARY  is situated  two  fields away from our main farm house in the countryside, It is our Five Star barn conversion which is very comfortably furnished with all mod cons and sleeps two, with a cot available.

There is also a sofa bed to make the accommodation suitable for travelling companions who do not want to share the same bedroom.

It is all on one level and very suitable for those with limited mobility, with easy parking close to the property.

Perfect for couples to get away from it all, enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Cornish countryside, with no disturbance from the outside world! But also perfectly located for all that Cornwall has to offer, whether you are after a romantic honeymoon, winter break, cosy Christmas or a long and relaxing summer holiday far from the madding crowd !

A network of lovely footpaths on your doorstep and the coast to coast cycle path at the bottom of the lane.

THE HOME BARN is attached to the main farm house, but is still extremely private, it has its own entrance and parking area, with private garden and views over the adjoining fields. It is reverse accommodation with a large sun lounge, kitchen and dining area with additional balcony at first floor level and the dual aspect bedroom and en-suite bathroom on the ground floor.

About the Owners:

Alan and I have lived in the village of Perranwell all our lives. Alan was born here and I moved to Cornwall at the age of about six. We both went to the village Primary school and that is were we first met. As we grew up we became more than just friends. And with a combined passion for farming and the countryside we rented land at local farms in the area. Finally we were delighted to be able to find somewhere with land that we could actually afford to buy, but that came at a price!! The farm was dilapidated with leaking roofs, boarded up windows and in quite a state of disrepair. The land was untidy and the hedges were a complete mess. Our first priority was to get the little barn on the side of the house (The Home Barn) up and running. We needed it to be available to let to guests, so that the income from that would help us renovate the rest of the house during the following winters. We had lots of support from friends and family and many a late night, working into the small hours to get things finished. During the summers we spent time on repairing hedges, hanging gates and working on the grounds and gardens. Our second barn conversion was The Granary. This took longer to accomplish because of the strict planning conditions we had to adhere to and there were only three solid walls left standing! But we got there in the end and are very proud of the results. More recently we had a major refurbish of the original Home Barn, adding a beautiful glass roofed sunroom and re-modelling the whole of the interior, to bring it up to 5 * standard. We both have full time jobs and have fitted all of the renovations and continuing maintenance in and around our jobs and in our spare time . . . 30 years without a holiday finally came to an end in January 2016. We stole 4 nights away in a holiday cottage on a farm! Since then we have extended this to one whole week each year!!
