*Events are many and varied throughout Cornwall, all year round. The especially mild climate means that spring comes early and the county is often in bloom when others are still shivering. There is an array of celebrations, carnivals, festivals, Saint's day celebrations, agricultural shows, regattas and watersport championships.
Wherever you are in the county, whatever the time of year, there will be something to enjoy. Your host will be happy to tell you what's on where you are staying. Below is just a small selection of what to expect.
11th to 12th September - Lanlivery Vintage Rally and Country Fair, nr Lostwithiel
A vast array of vintage tractors cars and machinery, dancing diggers, dog scurry and dog show, stalls, fairground rides, table top sale, craft tent, clay pigeon shoot, archery etc all set in fields overlooking breathtaking scenery
11th to 25th September - St Ives September Festival
There will be live music, live theatre, dance, art, talks, poetry, comedy & cinema crammed into a 15-day action-packed festival.We have artists from all over the world attending - some familiar to the festival, and some here for the first time.
24th to 26th September - Cornwall Food and Drink Festival
Welcome to the sixth Cornwall Food and Drink Festival. Always guaranteed to create a buzz, it is the largest event anywhere dedicated to Cornish food and drink and this year it's even bigger and more action-packed than ever. There will be plenty of fun for all, with so much going on that you can make a real day of it - for the whole family. Unlike many food and drink festivals these days, entry is free and there is no charge for any of the professional demonstrations and activities.
14th to 17th October - Falmouth Oyster Festival, Falmouth
Embarking on its fourteenth year, Falmouth Oyster Festival celebrates the start of the oyster dredging season, the diversity and quality of Cornish Seafood and in particular, one of the last remaining traditional oyster fisheries, dredging by sail and hand punt.
