Cornish Farm  Holidays  - self-catering and bed and breakfast

Easter in Cornwall – the natural place to be

Nothing lightens the heart more than the first vibrant daffodils of spring. Their dazzling yellow reminds us of the beauty of the natural world, and as Easter approaches we’re ready to recharge our batteries with more of nature’s wonderful gifts.

A Cornish farm holiday is the ideal way to enjoy this special time. Spread throughout Cornwall, our superb self-catering and bed-and-breakfast accommodation is perfectly placed for all the county’s springtime magnificence. As the land wakes up, we’re planting new crops and our chicks are hatching in time for Easter. Farm Holiday

Calves and foals are born, and spring lambs skip in some of our fields. Everywhere is bursting with promise.

Beauty that takes your breath away
Cornwall is an extraordinary place. Its wild coastline is one of the most adored in the world, with its spectacular cliffs and glorious blue-green sea. Even this early in the year you can zip up a wetsuit and ride the untameable surf, or, if that’s too ambitious, amble along one of the many stretches of golden beaches or scramble down to a secluded cove. Enjoy the sounds of the sea, breathe the clear air, experience the pure light.

As you walk along the dramatic coastal footpaths, white sea campion and purple violets peep from the fresh greenery by your feet, and in the warmth of the sun you might just catch the coconut scent of the yellow gorse flowers.

Inland Cornwall, too, is fantastic at Eastertime. Rolling fields and hills surround wild and unspoilt moorland, with rugged granite tors, marshes and sacred sites – now brightened with the blooms of primrose and wild garlic. Ancient stones hide in unexpected corners, and the ghostly remains of Cornwall’s mining past are found here, as well as rising out of the granite cliffs along the coast.
Walk or cycle alongside wide, peaceful rivers and their romantic creeks, or explore them by canoe. Wander along unbelievably beautiful valleys or beside fiercely rushing waterfalls.

Flowers say it all

The splendid gardens at Easter are a huge draw for visitors throughout Cornwall. Their jazzily coloured rhododendrons and azaleas vie for our attention and contrast with dreamy magnolias and softly hued primulas growing by ornamental streams.

Drive along the windy lanes and you’ll notice the hedgerows coming alive. Soon they will be a froth of colour: blues, mauves, white, pink and yellow. The daffodil fields are a brilliant sight, even in April, as the flowers continue to be picked for sale until May. Stop and buy a bunch as you drive past, but watch out for those Easter bunnies – some of them are very small.
Your perfect Easter present

All through Cornwall you will find cultural and fun events, from spring flower shows and music festivals to Easter egg hunts for the children. All this can be yours from the base of a luxurious springtime Cornish farm where quality is assured.

This year make your Easter egg a freshly laid farm egg, then discover the wonders of Cornwall.
